Google Now, the highly efficient personal assistant from Google, which was only available for the fortunate users who own a device that runs on latest Android OS 4.1 or later, is soon to be made available to general users, hints the latest reports on search giant.

It looks like Google Now won’t be limited to Android, iOS and Chrome alone, but will also be added to Google’s homepage. Some code from a page that’s tested by Google offers more information about this feature, reports Google Operating System, unofficial news and tips blog about Google.

Google Now, the virtual personal assistant, gets you the right information at right time. To achieve this, Google Now tracks the device’s location, the entries in the calendar, the content of emails in a Gmail account, search history and preferences — such as taste in music or which sports teams the user supports, traffic information on the routes the user usually travel, and much more.

Yahoo is all set to close its email services in China by this summer as a part of the agreement with its partner Alibaba Group, one of China’s biggest Internet companies. This service is scheduled to close on August 19, reports Huffington Post.

Yahoo has started recommending its users in China to opt for another service provider such as Aliyun, an email service provider suggested as an alternative by the Alibaba Group. The company, since 2005 wanted to phase out of China after it handed over its website, email and other services over to Alibaba. As a part of that deal, Yahoo had acquired Alibaba’s 40 percent stake paying around $1 billion.

The investment decision made by Yahoo by acquiring the stake is proved to be a good deal, as the company made a huge profit of $7.6 billion by selling half of its stake back to Alibaba last year. Analysts believe the remaining half of the stakes is now worth even more, predicted to be about $14 billion.

Alibaba is considering going public in the coming two years which would give an opportunity for Yahoo to sell more of its holdings.

In the same line, Yahoo has announced shutting down few of its other products and services in U.S. too which is low profitable and are not used by many. This in turn, would help the company to reduce its cost and thereby allowing its engineers to work more on other profit making apps and mobile products.

Roll Laptop

rollRolltop is a portable computer development concept for designer, architect and everyone, who would like to have a gadget, which, from an aesthetic standpoint alone, certainly hits the mark.
rolltop_bild01By virtue of the OLED-Display technology and a multitouchscreen the utility of a laptop computer with its weight of a mini-notebook and screen size of 13 inch easily transforms into the graphics tablet, which with its 17-inch flat screen can be also used as a primary monitor due to the support attached to the back of the screen.

Bypass Irritating Online Surveys

We often come across sites in which we have to forcefully do a survey because we have to download a file or see some content (Smile Pirates). In all of these surveys we are forced to disclose our personal information like our phone number,  email id etc.
Later these sites irritate you with their sms’s spam mails of offers in which you not at all are interested !

So we’ve found a way by which you can get through these sites without leaking out your personal information !

Let’s start –

1. Download this add on called ”greasemonkey” for Mozilla Firefox (Mozilla is needed and although many love chrome; its so sad we Indians go for looks rather than reliability, security, performance ).

After installing it,it would appear like this in your browser –

2. After installing it download this script which runs with the help of this add on(greasemonkey) —

Install this script and make sure the monkey on the right side of your Mozilla screen is colored (which means greasemonkey is activated,to activate or deactivate just click on it)

3. Now go to the site which tells you to do the survey and asks for your information etc..

4. You’ll see an option on top left side of the page which says ” Press CTRL+SHIFT+F to fill in form. ”

Do as CTRL+SHIFT+F and you will see that the form gets filled on its own and all the information filled out there is completely random !

Click on submit and you are registered on the site and now you can easily download what you wanted to ! 🙂

This is all random stuff filled by the script.

5. Some sites may tell you to verify your identity by logging into your mail and opening some url or to get some pin ! For this all you have to so is go to . Go to this site and you’ll get a temporary email id for around 15-30min.

->paste that temporary email id at the place of email id which your intelligent form filler has randomly filled.

->click on submit form.

Here ” is the yopmail email id which is replaced by the default id given by ”form filler”

Here ”” is the yopmail email id which is replaced by the default id given by ”form filler”

6. Check Inbox for the mail from the site.

->Get the pin or confirmation link>you are done !

Here as you can see two mails from the site where we have to forcefully register and the confirmation link plus password (other mails are just spam, ignore them).

7. Some sites may ask you for voice calls confirmation ..we have the solution for that too 🙂
In that case go to this site ..on this site you can receive voice calls via mail ! So you bypass Survey again without giving any details !

Register here and you’ll be able to receive voice calls via mail.

Accutronics has launched two new lithium-ion batteries in its Intel lion series of credit card sized batteries. These new smart batteries are ideal for high-tech portable applications including tele-healthcare devices, test and measurement equipment and wearable computers

The CC2300 and CC3800 batteries allow integration of smart lithium ion battery into handheld portable products with minimal effort and cost.

The products feature 3.7V Lithium Ion cell technology coupled with impedance tracking fuel gauge, an active protection system, and a compact connector.

The batteries feature an active electronic protection system that prevents them from being overcharged, over discharged or short circuited.

In addition, they have impedance tracking fuel gauge that constantly tracks battery status, providing information such as remaining battery capacity, state of charge, run time to empty, battery voltage and temperature.

Super capacitors (also known as electric double-layer capacitors – EDLC), are electrochemical capacitors with energy densities hundreds of times larger than conventional capacitors, making them suitable for energy storage applications.

Researchers have used computer simulations for how super capacitors are able to store electric charge.

Researchers from France, the UK and the US have used realistic molecular-scale computer simulations to examine how ions are arranged in carbide-derived carbon electrodes, which has cast light on the origin of super capacitance at the atomic scale.

In order to examine the behavior of ionic liquids at the interface with carbon electrodes, the team designed a realistic simulation cell consisting of an ionic liquid electrolyte surrounded by two porous electrodes which could be held at a constant potential.

When two different voltages were applied between the electrodes, the team could compare how ions are organized in the electrified pores of electrodes and how they behave at a planar graphite surface.

Mojtaba Mirzaeian who investigates super capacitors at Queen’s University Belfast, UK, says the simulations offer new and useful information on the mechanism of ion separation and charge storage inside micro porous electrodes.

This could be beneficial in the preparation of micro porous carbons with desired porous structures to enhance the capacity and performance of EDLCs,’ he says.
